DRAGON BOAT EVENT 2025
It was a fabulous day with around 700 attending. Our highly professional team managed to come 7th out of 19 teams. Amazing, considering our team’s age profile and some of the teams race regularly. The Dragon Boat committee generously support WS plus Leonard Cheshire home and have donated £1252.00 to each charity.. A couple of volunteers managed to wave a bucket and the credit card machine and raised £204.57. If you’re interested in joining the team next year, please ask.
Current Fundraising Projects
New Commando Safety Boat.
This would add to the present boats made available by Chipstead Sailing Club. It would give us more flexibility especially when we have schools who need one boat to assist with their training.
Cost approximately £7,000.
Improve the Ground of Wheelies.
Although wheel chairs users can access our boats, the ground really needs to be made smoother for easier and safer handling for the small wheels on chairs.
Cost approximately £3000.
Without donations, we wouldn’t be able to operate!
